i went to wikipedia.com to see what’s the joke with audubon (I’m german) and not just was that cleared up, thanks to wikipedia I now know how* “autobahn” is spelled in english. made my day, thanks!

by the way, you’re spelling “autobahn” wrong then. I mean, you don’t say “audomadic dransmission” either, do you?

You know this reminds me of a great story about American ornithologist and artist John James. You know the guy. His effort to catalog every species of bird in the United States resulted in the publication of The Birds of America (1827-1838), a collection of 1,065 life-size engravings of birds found in eastern North America. It is considered a classic work in ornithology and in American art. I should really tell you all about it sometime.

Not that ottoman makes much more sense, despite being the correct word. I'm tempted to call people up and ask if they mean Ottoman as in the empire or the thing you put your feet on.
