Wanted Editor For My Book

I am in process of writing and publishing my frist book. I need an experience editor who willing to do it for free. Since I don’t have much money. It about helping people to understand about pit bulls and others breeds how they can make great pet etc and common myths about them. Thanks.

It’s certainly hard to argue that they desperately need an editor. Let’s start with an editor for their Craigslist post and then work our way up …

Wanted: Editor For My Book

I am in the process of writing and publishing my frist first book. I need an experienced editor who is willing to do it for free. S since I don’t have much money. It‘s about helping people to understand about pit bulls and others breeds; I want to show how that they can make great pets etc and discuss common myths about them. Thanks.

Actually, I would rearrange the paragraph so that the third sentence is second, since the word “It’s” is referring to book, and not editor.

On second thought, no thanks. Something tells me that book would be a lot of work.

    I fixed the contraction, spelling, and comma splice for you. You’re welcome. Now, can you be a little bit more specific? What exactly do you believe is still wrong with my corrected version?

    Not the anonymous but the part about “pit bulls and others breeds” caught my attention too. Granted, English isn’t my first language but that sounds a little strange. Also, would “dispel” be a better word than “discuss”?

    Sorry, I can’t resist making corrections. And I find your blog funny, even though I live in a country with no Craigslist.

    Katri; thanks. It’s not entirely obvious, but the “s” in “others” has a strike through it, indicating that I edited it out of the original.

    And “dispel” could work there, yes.

    (I can’t believe I’m discussing my editing! I’m also quite amused that Katri, a non-native speaker, has a markedly better command of the language than our friend Anonymous.)

    It does look different now that you mention, it’s too tiny for my eyes 🙂

    I’m a graphic designer and am doing a layout for a book that’s in English and has passed two editors, there are still a lot of mistakes for me to catch (and probably quite many that I don’t notice). Editing is really hard work.

    Um. I have never published a book, but once you find a publisher, don’t you get the editing as part of the deal? I think what this person really means (even though they don’t know this is what they mean) is: “I need a proofreader to improve my text enough that the editor going through the slush pile doesn’t reject it as unreadable after two sentences.”

    I have edited, but not professionally. I did like it, but I agree, it’s a LOT of work, even with text that’s well-written to begin with.

    One missed mistake: “free” or “free of charge” instead of “for free.”

    Judging from her speech writing skills, I’m thinking that whoever Harper-Collins lines up to edit Sarah Palin’s book is going to have just a difficult a time.
