Reading. If it hurts, ur doin’ it wrong.

What is it about lamps that makes people laconic?

Antique-ish brassy lamp – $5 (downtown)

I love lamp.

There isn’t even any good reflectoporn in the listing. I’m terribly disappointed.

Lamp, meet table.

Edited to add: Ah-ha, it’s an Anchorman reference. Still, not the best way to sell your grandmother’s ugly lamp, is it?

Ah, it’s an Anchorman reference. I’ve not seen that movie. Got it.

Not only have I not seen the movie, but I’m also such a geek that when I noticed people saying “I love lamp” on the Internet, I assumed they were referring to Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP. I mean, who doesn’t love LAMP?

A guy I knew got a tattoo a few years ago that was a heart with a ribbon across it that read “Lamp.” I didn’t get it, but thought it was just him being himself (odd). It wasn’t until last year that I got it (“Oh, it’s a reference to a line in a movie…!”).

That’ll age well. 😛 Take a picture and send it in to the horrible tattoos blog.

I do love the movie Anchorman! It’s not because it’s particularly good as a whole, but there are so many quotable bits! I totally approve of the person who posted the “I love lamp” ad… but not enough to buy that lamp from them. Furthermore, I ate a big red candle.

I don’t know, i was really inclined to buy the lamp just for the awesomeness of using the quote.

And I do love Anchorman. It’s not a subtle, intelligent comedy, but i’ve never laughed so much viewing-after-viewing.
It’s my hands down favorite comedy. Eveeeer.

“Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident?”

I’m with you, especially if it stays hot and humid. I’d high-five, but that requires energy that I could use to read.

Y’know what the second ‘lump’ post makes me think of?
One of those old horror movie trailers with all the freeze-frames.
Yeah, seriously, the lamp is evil.
    It’s waiting.
    Watching.
(plays screechy piano music as the camera zooms in on the lampshade)
Coming soon to a theatre near you.
I am also resisting the temptation as I write this to copy the pictures onto Paint and doodle evil faces on the lampshade. Aherm.

Why resist? Resistance is futile. The lumps will assimilate you.

The first thing I thought of when I saw “I love lamp” was Aaah! Real Monsters…
But that’s probably because I watched that show way too much and only saw Anchorman once.
