As if French Prudential wasn’t bad enough, now we have French Preventional. What, exactly, are they preventing? Whatever it is, they’re French — it won’t work! It will be like the Maginot Line of furniture. The chairs will launch an aerial assault on the china cabinet and the buffet table will surrender immediately.
An update! Qu’elle surprise … for some inexplicable reason, some French Prudential furniture that was listed earlier on Craigslist did not sell (mon Dieu!), so they’ve dropped the price and are trying again.

It’s nice to see that some things don’t change, including a complete disregard for common rules of punctuation and spelling, n’est-ce pas? However, we now find out that French Prudential furniture is made by some Italian named Al.
And I’m kind of liking the word “togethere”. It implies that everyone in a group is all in the same place, and is somewhere else … over there. They are togethere. It is, how the French say, le mot juste.

Antique off white with light blue trim includes headboard, huge mens chest, long bureau with two mirrors and nightstand. This set is very heavy and oversized. There is also another long bureau which does not belong to the set which is available for $50 which looks similar. xxx-xxx-xxxx
Seriously. I’m going to start my own furniture style and call it the Norwegian Allstate style. (That came just after the Belgian Geico style, and just before the Spanish Metropolitan Life style.)
But wait, there’s yet more French Prudential furniture! These are all from the same East coast city, all posted by the same person. In fact, I have a more than sneaking suspicion that the person posting these items is the same person who posted three French Prudential couches and a china “closet” a while back. Sadly, there are no pictures with these four (!) listings, so my exploration into this previously unknown furniture design period will have to continue to determine what the actual qualities of “French Prudential” furniture are.

Seriously, is there a French Prudential period? I’ve looked repeatedly and I can’t find any reference to a French Prudential period outside of the other Craigslists posts that have mentioned it.
