    invitationes four your event

I made invitatationes four your event
if you want more information can you
    send meil !!
    tenks..

They’ve made invitations for my event! I haven’t even told them what my event IS yet, but they’ve already made them! I hope their company name is the Psychic Printing Service. That’d be awesome — you walk in and say, “I need …” and they say, “We know,” and hand you your already-completed order.

The only problem is that your invitations would end up looking something like this:

Mr. and Mrs. Becky and Tim requesest you’re prersents

at the baptitizim of there daog Miffy.

Pleze can you send meil two let us no if your comming !!

    tenks..

Thanks to Corie for the submission! (This was posted under “Clothing & Accessories” for some reason, so I’m categorizing it there as well as where it should belong.)

  • YSaC, Vol. 393: If by “washing” you mean “kill it with fire”, then yes.

    Mens suit (pants and jacket)

This is a pin striped gray suit the jacket is a 40 L the pants are 33 x 33 Magic Stretch by Haggard. The good thing about it besides being free is it is machine washable. Its been hanging in a bag in the basement closet for at least 7 years now. sooooo… It could use a washing before you wear it.put xxxxxxx in search box to see all things for sale & free

    Oh and we are smokers
    393

I’ve never, ever associated the phrases “good thing” and “machine washable suit” together before. I’ve also never, ever considered wearing clothing that has been in a smoker’s basement for seven years and that even they describe as “could use a washing”.

  • YSaC, Vol. 256: Granny panties!

    Pantyhose – $7

Cleaning out granny’s dresser and she had bunches of pantyhose, some are vintage! As you can see in the pic…. some have white or cream colored panties with a sandstone hose. One pair is more like a girdle top with hose attached. And one pair are dark sheer with the dark colored heel and toe that were probably back from the 1960’s!!! This pair is obviously been worn, the others look new, but I couldnt swear to it! Please note these are not for plus size people, granny was small and from the tags in the pantyhose they are mostly listed as average! There’s 11 pairs total for only $7 Cash only, pick up only!

If this ad is still appearing…… then the item is still available. Dont clutter up my mailbox asking stupid questions like “Is it still available?” Especially 5 minutes after the ad appeared! Ill just delete the email w/o answering it! I try to list all info with the ad including a picture. If I dont have one, then its not included, so dont write asking, “Do you have a picture?” Obviously I dont! Prices listed are what I would like to receive for an item, you’re welcome to write and make me a decent offer and I might accept it unless I list the price as “FIRM”! For the low ball offers, you know what you can do with them! Those will be deleted also! If you’re really interested in the item, write and tell me what day and time you would like to come out to purchase the item! And please show up when you say you will or email me to reschedule! My time is as valuable as yours and waiting for someone to show up is taking away from things I have to do.

Phoebe sends this one in, saying, “Wow. I really love that this person is a) selling off granny’s pantyhose collection and b) spends more time basically telling interested parties to fuck off in one way or another than she does describing the pantyhose.”

I want to email this charming person and say, “Are they still available? Do you have pictures of the dark sheer pair? What size are they all? I’ll give you $3 for all of them, and I can show up sometime between Wednesday and two Thursdays from now.”

Anyway, I’m aware that some vintage lingerie is actually desirable. Dead Granny’s possibly-used pantyhose? I’m going to categorize that one under “ew.”

  • YSaC, Vol. 208: All the good strippers are taking plastic these days.

price reduced on BEAUTIFUl prom/pageant gown stand out at prom

I paid over 400 dollars for this dress. it has beautiful detail on the top and all along the bottom. not itchy at all. has been taken in in different places but can be let out or taken in more. it is a size 6 originally. PLEASE make me a reasonable offer. you are MORE than welcome to come by and try it on or have a closer look. truly a one of a kind dress. I had random people taking pictures becasue it was such a beautiful dress. email xxxxxxxxxxxx2107@yahoo.com with questions or comment. CASH ONLY and the top comes off

Shawna sent in this post, saying:

Overall, not a horrible post. It’s just… Well, first, the dress looks fairly bridal. I’m glad it’s not itchy at all, I guess. I feel COMPELLED to make a reasonable offer, perhaps after COMING BY to try it on. And you know, if I had “random people” chasing me down to snap photos, that would make me very uncomfortable. Also, who is the zoot suit creep on the lamp post? And why?

Finally, and most obviously, pay cash “and the top comes off”? Nice. That’s a motivated seller.

I’ll bet she did stand out at prom.

    [ /Shawna]

This post brings me to a question. I’m somewhat of a language wonk, if you haven’t noticed. Little linguistic things really interest me, like regional variations between pop and soda or bag and sack. It’s because the rest of my life is so exciting, I’m sure, that I focus on things like this in my down time.

Anyway, I know that in parts of the US the construction, “I went to prom” is more common, but where I grew up, I went to THE prom. Saying “I went to prom” seems to me like saying, “I went to store.” My husband says, “Ours had a qualifier — you went to Senior Prom or Junior Prom.” Even then, I would say, “I went to THE Junior Prom” instead.

I have a sneaking suspicion I’m in the minority; a Google search for “I went to prom” returns over 31,500 hits, while a search for “I went to the prom” returns a mere 19,000. Luckily, the Google search also returned this blog entry on the topic, which makes me feel a little bit better — I’m not the only person who overthinks these things.

How about you folks? Did you go to prom, or did you go to the prom?

And did you take your top off for cash at [the] prom?
