Last week was Mackenzie week, but this week it’s SD week. Thanks to SD for supplying all three of this week’s posts! Sadly, Mackenzie crashed the backhoe, but you’re welcome to come pet the official YSaC sea urchin, “Pointy.”

Pain is missing? I think we know who can help with that! (The screaming will probably also be covered.)

Also, it’s worth noting that the entire title of this post was the zip code where the phone was offered for sale. No mention, for example, of the actual type of item being sold.

    Thanks for the week, SD!

Yes, it’s important to make an appointment when purchasing a three dollar disposable calculator. In fact, you should probably call several weeks in advance and make a reservation. You will be shown into the exclusive calculator showroom, after verifying your financial situation, of course. A strict dress code will be enforced – no T-shirts or jeans which are not charming will be permitted.

    Thanks for the opportunity, MC!

  • YSaC, Vol. 474: Pam and Tommy ain’t got nothin’ on this one.

To the person who donated the camcorder to the thrift store.

It came with a few tapes and one of the tapes is a homemade sex tape. I am wondering if you want it back. the person in the video’s also has a video of a classic musle car in the garage. and videos at the beach. a video showing everything in the house even themself in a mirror and the wife. video of the kids. I didn’t watch the full sex tape but i could see the wife laying with nothing on touching herself and I hit stop. you are lucky someone nice got this. I know some people would put the video online.

Implied subtext: That’s a really nice sex tape you’ve got there. I’d hate for anything to happen to that sex tape of yours. Sure, some people would put that sex video online. But I never would. Unless you offer me money not to. That’s just how nice I am.

The moral of today’s story: don’t donate videos to the thrift store! And if you do … well, don’t.

    Thanks for this listing, Rebecca!

  • YSaC, Vol. 259: In space, nobody can hear you’re stupid.

A couple of people sent this one in. Unfortunately, it had been flagged by the time I got to it … but luckily Sarah had taken a screen shot of it:

    256

For those of you with Internet Eye Syndrome, here’s the text of the ad:

“Hi i have 8 7591 vacuum tubes that were new old stock, i tested these in a scott amplifier and worked well. I carefully removed the glass on each tube to clean both sides as all the tops had silver inside blocking view of tubes light now the tubes have no glass but may still work. asking 50.00 each.”

John had also pointed me towards this listing, saying:

“This guy’s post is for a set of 8 NOS (new old stock) tubes for audio amplifiers. NOS mean they were made long ago, but are still not used. A pack of 8 of these NOS would be worth $200+ easily. So this guy breaks off the glass and “cleans all the shiny stuff” off the insides. The only place these might work would be the vacuum of space and are now worthless. That’s sort of like: New Light bulbs. I opened them to clean out the white stuff. They should still work. Oh and they don’t come with the glass anymore.”

Sarah’s commentary was, “It’s almost worth the $50 to see if this guy keeps doing it. Almost.”

Of course, since I’m a girl, my reaction was, “But will they match my shoes?”

    Thanks, Sarah and John!

  • YSaC, Vol. 235: Because there is no “eam” in T.

Team mobile cell phone Cheap!! – $30

I am selling a team mobile cell phone. you could use this as a replacement when yours breaks or lose it. i am only asking $30 big ones. call xxx-xxx-xxxx or email me at redsox[xxxx]@yahoo.com

That’s right, Sparky. All of the promotional material, all of the commercials with Catherine Zeta-Jones, even the phone itself that you took a picture of — ALL of them have the name of the company wrong, and you are the only one who has gotten it right. It’s Team Mobile. Right.

Never mind the fact that this phone is an old enough model that I can’t find any reference to it on the T-Mobile page OR the Samsung website, and that you want $30 for it. Or that you refer to dollars as “big ones”. (Or that you’re in New Jersey and have a Red Sox email address. With Yahoo.)

    Go Team Mobile!

Edited because I forgot to upload the pictures. D’oh!
