Do you suppose they meant “Bengal,” or are they just completely confused?

Anyway, someone should tell them that the best way to get a purebred cheap is to find a good breed rescue organization. Otherwise you’re either not getting a purebred, or you’re supporting puppy (kitten) mills and other irresponsible breeders.

I think there’s a lot of things someone should tell them … this may be down near the bottom of the list.

You’re probably right. It just struck me that asking for a purebred at a low price is one of those things doomed to fail, like asking for a Rolex for $100. If you find one, it’ll be fake or stolen or something. So it’s an additional element of “unclear on the concept.” I guess I would have made that point better if I’d mentioned that puppy/kitten mill animals may not be “fake,” in that they may be properly registered purebreds (though I bet their papers are often forged, too) but that doesn’t mean they’re healthy or well-bred pets – they’re usually not – so it’s the same quality problem. I didn’t need to wander off on the preachy side with the moral issues. Sorry.

No worries. I hate seeing all of the animal listings on Craigslist and flag all of them — but not before I copy the stupid ones.
