Man, those Roman numerals really were a bad idea. Anyway, here’s your YSaC historical zen for the day.

Oh, by the way, it’s the llamanun’s birthday today. Comments have been left open on this post so that you may express your fawning venerations here.*

Dear Llamanun (Bees Be Upon You):

It is with great fondness that I recall the joyous day that I was honored to be able to celebrate your birthday with you and Dan the Ostrimu (Bees Be Upon Him) in the great city of Boston. It is with almost as much fondness that I recall the amazing chocolate dessert that the Ostrimu (BBUH) and I shared, and which was super awesomely chocolaty and delicious.

Best wishes on this frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

    All my love and bees,

    Poncho, Poncho Moose

    The llama loved the Ostrimu.
They were married in the spring.
    They had a dozen babies
and their babies loved to sing.

So people came from miles around,
and this is what they saw:
    twelve little baby llastrimi
singing lla lla lla lla lla.

Happy birthday Llamanun (Bees Be Upon You)…….

Wrong meter, but, I can’t help not hearing that to Buffett’s Chanson pour les petits enfants

OK, in making that stupid crack above, I wasn’t trying to make fun
of Coffdrop’s poem, which is lovely. I was just a bit overwhelmed
with Capn’s erudition. I’m just worn out, up most of the night
with a sick dog, lack of sleep making me feel paranoid or something,
not trusting my judgment right now. BBUY Llamanunm and happy
          birthday.

*gives jg a friendly hug and a cup of camomile tea* I started my day with a tossed canary chick and no hand feeding formula in the house. So I understand. Luckily mom bird took the baby back. Must have been an accidental toss. All better now. 8)

I’m overwhelmed that being a parrothead might be equated with erudition.

Hard to equate simply knowing far too many Buffett songs by heart does not seem the equivalent to being well read to me.

Although, I will allow as how it is amazing to be out on a lawn with a few thousand impaired hippies dressed as pirates and sea creatures all go quiet and sing in french (or tahitian, for that matter).

Jimmy has said that the song, “Island” does occasionally cause him to think of John Donne–if mostly to remind himself that we are the people our parents warned us about.

First of all, I may be an hour and a half late but Happy Birthday Drmk! May you have many more and lots of fun to celebrate this one! I would send you some of the strawberry jam I made today but I am still not sure if I am making botulism or not. Have a virtual cookie and hug instead!

Secondly, I am so flattered that the llamanun (BBUH) herself picked out my comment for the box! <3
